<b><b>Windows Runtime</b> (<b>WinRT</b>)</b></h3>

<li><b></b>Supports <b><b>XAML</b> </b>framework and <b>HTML5</b> for UI<b> </b>design.<b><br /></b></li>
<li><b>WinRT</b> Apps:</li>
<ul>
<li>Are known as <b>Windows Store Apps</b>. </li>
<li>Natively support both the <b>x86</b> and <b>ARM</b> architectures. </li>
<li>Run inside a sandboxed environment to allow for greater security and stability.</li>
</ul>
</ul>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<b>Windows <span style="color: red;">Phone</span> Runtime</b> (<b>Win<span style="color: red;">P</span>RT</b>)</h3>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>Is a subset of native API that is built into <b>Windows Phone 8</b> operating system. </li>
<li>Supports development in <i>C++, C#</i> and <i>VB.NET</i>.</li>
<li>Supports<b><b> XAML</b> </b>framework for UI<b> </b>design.<b><br /></b></li>
</ul>
<br />
<br />
<b>WinRT </b>and <b>Win<span style="color: red;">P</span>RT</b> frameworks are similar in many areas. The following diagram shows the
relationship between them in terms
of the API surface area they implement: <br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i.imgur.com/63dge7y.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://i.imgur.com/63dge7y.png" width="316" /></a></div>
<br />
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>The API surface area of <b>WinRT</b> is very large, with <b>over 11,000 members</b>. Area 1 in the diagram above represents the
APIs that are <i><b>not</b></i> available on <b>Win<span style="color: red;">P</span>RT</b>. </li>
<li>The set of <b>WinRT</b> API adopted for <b>Win<span style="color: red;">P</span>RT</b> is represented by area 2 in the above diagram and consists of <b>approximately 2,800 members</b>.
For some types, MS have not implemented certain members. For others they
have added additional members to support phone-only features. In both
cases, these differences are noted in the API reference documentation.
</li>
<li>Phone specific key APIs are represented by area 3 in the diagram and total <b>about 600 members</b>.
For example, brand-new APIs for speech synthesis and
recognition, VOIP, and other features. </li>

<div style="margin-left: 1pt;">
<br />
1. Go to <span style="font-family: Tahoma;">C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository</span><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 12pt;"><br /></span></div>
Find files named usbstore…<br />
<div style="margin-left: 1pt;">

<div style="margin-left: 1pt;">
2. Choose the most recent usbstor folder</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1pt;">
Open the folder</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1pt;">
You’ll see a number of files…</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1pt;">

<div style="margin-left: 1pt;">
3. Select and copy usbstor.inf</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1pt;">
4. Now go to C:\Windows\Inf</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1pt;">
Paste the usbstor.inf file into this folder (On my system there was no usbstor.inf file already in this folder).</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1pt;">
5. Now try again to install the reader</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1pt;">
When Vista reports it cannot find a driver direct it to C:\Windows\Inf</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1pt;">
If all goes well you will see the following information from Vista</div>

<div>
<b>UPDATE: Skype has released a <a href="http://blogs.skype.com/garage/2012/06/skype_59_for_windows_hotfix_release_notes_changelog.html">hot fix</a> for these issues so instead of following these steps please re-install/update the latest version of Skype. </b><br />
<br />
Fix login issue:<br />
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>Stop Skype (it doesn't stop all the way in Win8 RP so kill it using Task Manager/Process Explorer)</li>
<li>Go to <b>C:\Users\YourUserName<your_username><username>\AppData\Roaming\Skype</username></your_username></b></li>
<li>Delete the following folders and files</li>
<ul>
<li> shared_dynco</li>
<li>shared_httpfe</li>
<li>shared.lck</li>
<li>shared.xml</li>
</ul>
</ul>
</div>
Fix high CPU usage:<br />
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>Run Process Explorer</li>
<li>Find Skype from the running processes </li>
<li>Double click the <b>Skype.exe</b> process</li>
<li>Go to <b>Threads</b> tab (click ok on the warring, it only shows up once)</li>
<li>Sort the running threads by CPU usage and kill the one that is consuming highest CPU resource </li>
<li>Skype will be still running but it will consume less CPU resource than before</li>
</ul>

<li>On the "Group Policy Management Editor" <br />go to "Computer Configuration">"Polices">"Windows Settings">"Security Settings">"Account Policies">"Password Policy"</li>
<li>Now modify the password complexity requirements setting. </li>
